Description

Teradata Warehouse Miner provides an array of data profiling and mining functions ranging from data exploration and transformation to analytic model development and deployment that are performed directly in the Teradata Database. While many data mining solutions require analysts to extract data samples to build and run analytic models, Teradata Warehouse Miner allows you to analyze detailed data without moving the detailed data out of the data warehouse, thus streamlining the data mining process. Teradata Warehouse Miner, and its derivative products Teradata Analytic Data Set (ADS) Generator and Teradata Profiler, can provide both a framework for the data mining process and a significant savings of time and resources in implementing the process.

The latest version of TWM (05.03.00) contains over 100 RFC's and defect fixes since the 05.02 release. The Release Definition (.pdf, 327 KB) has a list of all RFC’s, defects, restrictions and dependencies. The software available for download here is Teradata Warehouse Miner 05.03.00 60 Day Evaluation version. This is a complete version of the Teradata Warehouse Miner product set, however, it is only operable for 60 days after the initial installation.

Before installing TWM 05.03.00, follow these instructions, in sequential order:

  1. Uninstall any previous 4.x or 5.x versions if they were installed.
  2. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.The TWM 05.03.00 installation will prompt you for this if it is not installed. You must install .NET Framework 1.1 even if you have later versions installed.
  3. Ensure that a supported Teradata ODBC driver from TTU 8.2, TTU 12 or TTU 13 is installed, available here. Previous versions of the ODBC driver have issues which may result in unexpected behavior with TWM.
  4. Install the Teradata Warehouse Miner 05.03.00 60 Day Evaluation.
  5. Refer to the Installation and Configuration section of the on-line Help system for additional instructions on configuring Teradata Warehouse Miner prior to your first use.
