Becoming A Contributor

To become a contributor, go to the DevX site, and click the Register link in the upper-right corner. Then, send an email to the DevX Webmaster with your username, whether you want to be a Blogger, a full Contributor, or a Subject Area owner, and we will give you the required role/permissions, and notify you.

Once you are set up as a contributor, you will see a Contribute sidebar on the right side of the site.

The sidebar has two functions: a link to My Content, and links to create various content types (Blog, Article, Reference, FAQ), depending upon your role. In this screenshot, the author only has the Blogger role, and so can only create blog content.

  • My Content: displays a list of all the content created by you. From here you can click the title of the content to view, or click Edit to edit.

  • Create XXX: brings you to the Content Editor for content type XXX. Depending upon your role, you will have one or more links available.
